Posting videos on YouTube

You can watch YouTube videos without having an account on YouTube. You knew that. We watch how to’s videos all the time and also watch DIYs to get things fixed in the house. You can find videos on every aspect of our life and to know how things are done. This is where we all come in. What we know we pass it on through a video. You may know your trade but not know how to make it public. You can learn that too.

It is different if you are going to post videos on YouTube. You will need to have a channel. What we call a Channel is an area that is yours and you post your videos there for others to see. How you create one is easy. The first step would be to get a Gmail account. With your google account you sign in. Press channel, if you don’t already have one, it would suggest to create your channel. Then follow the prompts. It doesn’t matter if you set everything correctly at the beginning. Once you understand you can change them to your preference. Usually it is your name but you can change that too. Once you have a channel start posting videos.

How to post videos. It is very simple once you have a video on your phone or on your computer. Follow the video above how to upload a video.

1. Go to YouTube and log on to your account if you already haven’t

2. Press the picture of your channel. Then select Your channel.

3. Select the plus sign at the bottom center.

4. Select upload video.

5. It will bring you to where all your photos and videos. Select the on to upload.

6. Once select top right hand corner go to next. Here you will be asked to create a title and a description press next.

7. The next screen it asks you whether it is made of children. You can select or leave it blank and upload video.

Congratulations! You have uploaded your first video.

Creating a short

When creating a short follow the same steps as posting a video but select create short. When you create a short it is automatically uploaded when you are finished with all the prompts.

Once you have posted a couple of Videos and Shorts. Regularly check your analytics. There you can see what types of videos are performing and what is not. Look for reasons why people are watching one more Han the other. Learn from that. Self learning is a big process in this. Post more the types that work better than others.

Once you get the hang of it make longer videos to increase the number of hours watched. Post videos teaching your experience as how it is done. People tend to watch tutorials more than any other videos. Remember every little thing you do makes you better at this and that is what will reach your goal of monetizing. Remember the magic is to get a 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time for you to get monetized on YouTube.

At the beginning these numbers will look hard to achieve. This is where you commitment and consistente come in. Post the links of your videos in your social media. Encourage viewers to like or dislike. Get a sense of what is happening and where it is heading.
