Disney Wilderness Preserve

 

Disney Wilderness Preserve is in Kissimmee Florida. Nature Conservation and Research. There are thousands of species of plant and animals that makes home here. 
You can hike 7 miles in the preserve. The trail is color coded to Red and Yellow Loop. Red been the shorter of the two. They are well marked and you cannot get lost. Each turn there is a map that tell you where you are.
The trails are not highly trafficked and most area of the trail you walk on soft grass. Some areas are sandy and gravel. There is an area of boardwalk as the land there is wet. 

There are picnic tables and benches along the length of the trail. It is very peaceful. The only noise you would hear are from the birds. The picnic areas are in the shade. There is lake access on the red part of the trail with no lake shore. A beautiful view of the lake. 
There is a a display of animal and plant remains at the entrance. Here you are expected to sign in.  Entrance is free.

In the trail you mainly walk on grass. 


Picnic Areas

There is parking and bathrooms. Drinking water is not available 

Lake Access

This area is going a short distance out of the loop. It is nice and shady. There are no places to picnic here but there are benches.

It is a fun place to visit. If you had enough of theme parks and you want a relaxing day this would be good one.
